Dr. Christine Peinelt is spending a 3-month sabbatical at QCBR

The Queen’s Center for Biomedical Research is hosting Dr. Christine Peinelt during her sabbatical leave of absence from her position as Professor and Principal Investigator at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine (IBBM), University of Bern, Switzerland. 

Dr. Peinelt spent her postdoctoral years at QCBR and returned to Europe to embark on a very successful career in science, first at the University Saarland, Bad Homburg, Germany, followed by her tenure in Bern, where she is presently the co-director of teaching and provides mentorship within the Mentoring for Women program. 

Her research interest focusses on cellular physiology and the regulation of ion channels in the immune system and prostate cancer. Over the next 3 months, she will be participating in QCBR projects in calcium signaling.
